This past weekend, Place Montel in Montmagny was buzzing with life as it hosted a sugar-themed celebration that brought together families and friends, despite the cloudy skies provided by Mother Nature.

The festive atmosphere was set to the lively tunes of the Carrefour mondial de l’accordéon, adding a musical flair to the event. Several booths animated the square, including an outdoor bar, a maple product stand from Bistreau d’érable of Sainte-Lucie-de-Beauregard, and a mobile coffee trailer from Café Les Enfants Perdus, serving warm beverages and tasty treats.
Families were front and center with plenty of activities for the little ones: a face painting tent, a cheerful mascot handing out surprises, and fun games like mini putt and a plastic axe throwing game that kept the kids entertained.
Of course, no sugar-themed event would be complete without the classic maple taffy on snow, which was a big hit with everyone. And to top it all off, crackling bonfires on site helped keep everyone warm and cozy.
It was a joyful and successful gathering that celebrated the sweetness of maple, community spirit, and good music—regardless of the weather!
